Bandit Terms of Use

These Terms govern Bandit, the collaboration workspace for bands. Please read them before creating a band, joining a band, starting a trial, or purchasing an owner subscription.

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Bandit is provided by ZUMA-LAND S.R.L., a Romanian limited liability company registered under CUI 28880630 and trade register number J21/307/2011 (“Zuma-Land”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). You can contact us at office@zuma-land.com.

These Terms apply to the Bandit mobile, desktop, and web experiences, the Bandit media service, and related support services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, accepting an invitation, uploading content, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use Bandit for a company, association, or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for that organisation. Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law continue to apply.

2. Bandit is a collaboration workspace—not a backup service

Bandit is designed to be the working home for a band: a place to coordinate members, conversations, recordings, documents, images, setlists, and related collaboration. It is not an archival, disaster-recovery, permanent-storage, or backup service.

You must keep independent, current copies of all content that is important, irreplaceable, required for a performance, needed for legal or tax purposes, or otherwise valuable to you or your band. Do not use Bandit as the only or primary copy of recordings, masters, stems, lyrics, contracts, artwork, documents, messages, or any other data.

Storage quotas, retention windows, exports, redundancy, operational backups, and recovery efforts do not replace your own backups and do not create a promise that any item can be recovered.

  • Keep at least one independent backup outside Bandit.
  • Check that exported files open correctly before deleting your originals.
  • Back up important content before changing ownership, cancelling, allowing a trial to expire, or deleting a band or account.

3. Accounts, age, and account security

You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for protecting your sign-in credentials and for activity performed through your account. Tell us promptly at office@zuma-land.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Bandit is not directed to children under 16. You must be at least 16, or older if your country requires a higher age to enter into this agreement without parental consent. A parent or legal guardian must approve use where applicable law requires it.

Accounts are personal. Do not share credentials or impersonate another person. We may require reasonable identity or authority checks before processing security, ownership, export, or privacy requests.

4. Band owners, members, and authority

Every band has an owner. The owner controls the owner subscription, invitations, roles, ownership transfers, exports available to the owner, and permanent band deletion. Band members do not need their own subscription: one owner subscription covers everyone in each covered band.

Owners and administrators must invite only people they are authorised to add and must manage access when a person leaves the band. Ownership transfers are effective only when completed through Bandit and may require the recipient to have available paid capacity.

A band owner acts for the band when managing shared content and members. Owners must not use their role to access or disclose private-chat content unless they are a participant or applicable law authorises access. Members remain responsible for content they contribute.

5. Trial and subscription terms

A new eligible owner receives one automatic 14-day, no-card trial when they create their first owned band. Joining someone else’s band does not start or consume a trial. The app-managed trial does not automatically convert into a paid store subscription.

The trial covers one owned band, up to 500,000,000 bytes of storage, and up to 10 total people including the owner; pending invitations reserve seats. When the trial ends without an active subscription, the band is locked and scheduled for deletion as described below.

Paid owner plans cover capacity for one to five owned bands. The base price is USD 19 per month or USD 190 per year for each band of capacity, with exact local price, currency, taxes, and billing cadence shown by the applicable store before purchase. All capacity in an owner plan uses the same monthly or annual cadence. Paid bands receive up to 50,000,000,000 bytes of storage and up to 20 total people per band, subject to these Terms.

Store subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the applicable store before renewal. Cancellation normally preserves access until the displayed paid-through date. Purchases, billing, cancellation, and refunds are also governed by Apple or Google Play. Mandatory statutory refund and withdrawal rights are not limited by these Terms.

If your paid capacity is lower than the number of bands you own, all owned bands may be locked until you upgrade or permanently delete enough bands. Lower-capacity choices may remain unavailable while you own more bands than that capacity.

6. Locking, retention, export, and deletion

When a trial expires, its band is locked and scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days later. When paid access expires, every band owned by that account is locked and scheduled for permanent deletion 90 days later. We may send in-app and email warnings at lock time, approximately seven days before deletion, and approximately 24 hours before deletion, but you remain responsible for monitoring the in-app deadline.

While a band is locked, collaboration and ordinary media access are disabled. The owner may be offered a time-limited, authenticated ZIP export of authorised band data and original media. Private-chat content is included only for chats in which that owner is a participant. An export is a convenience, not a backup guarantee, and may be unavailable if data has already been deleted, corrupted, or made inaccessible.

Reactivation before the displayed deadline may clear scheduled deletion when payment and capacity are sufficient. Permanent deletion, whether scheduled or owner-initiated, is intended to be irreversible and removes Firestore records, invitations, and original media from the active service. Residual copies may remain temporarily in restricted operational backups until those backups rotate or retention is legally required.

7. Your content and permissions

You keep ownership of content you upload or create. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, and technically adapt that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms. This licence ends when the content is deleted from our active systems, subject to limited backup and legal-retention periods.

You are responsible for having every right, licence, consent, and permission needed to upload and share your content with the selected band, room, or private-chat participants. This includes music, recordings, performances, compositions, lyrics, artwork, photographs, personal data, and confidential information.

Bandit does not claim ownership of your songs, recordings, or other creative work. We do not resolve ownership, royalty, authorship, band-name, membership, or revenue disputes between users.

8. Acceptable use

You must use Bandit lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, deceptive, abusive, or shared without required permission;
  • harass, threaten, exploit, or unlawfully monitor another person;
  • upload malware, executable payloads, or material intended to disrupt or compromise the Service;
  • circumvent authentication, membership, billing, quotas, rate limits, or access controls;
  • probe or reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • use Bandit to provide storage, resale, or hosting services to third parties; or
  • interfere with the Service, other users, or our infrastructure.

9. Availability, changes, and third-party services

We aim to provide a reliable collaboration service, but Bandit may be interrupted, changed, suspended, or unavailable because of maintenance, security incidents, network failure, software defects, capacity limits, legal requirements, third-party outages, or events outside our reasonable control.

Bandit relies on third-party services including app stores, RevenueCat, Firebase, notification providers, email delivery providers, and Hetzner infrastructure. Their availability and separate terms may affect the Service. We are not responsible for third-party products or services beyond obligations that applicable law places on us.

We may modify features, limits, supported platforms, or technical requirements. If a change materially reduces a paid consumer service, we will provide any notice, remedy, or termination right required by applicable law.

10. No storage or recovery guarantee

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, permanent retention, or that content will never be lost, corrupted, altered, delayed, or deleted.

You acknowledge that internet services, devices, software, local disks, databases, account actions, and third-party systems can fail. You accept responsibility for maintaining independent backups and for verifying important content and exports.

Nothing in these Terms excludes a legal guarantee or remedy that cannot be excluded for consumers, including applicable EU rights for digital services.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Zuma-Land and its directors, employees, and contractors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss; loss of profit, opportunity, reputation, goodwill, or anticipated savings; or loss, corruption, deletion, disclosure, or inability to recover data or user content arising from or related to Bandit.

For claims that may lawfully be limited, our total aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Bandit during the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) EUR 100.

These limitations do not apply to fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, breach of data-protection obligations to the extent liability cannot lawfully be limited, or any statutory consumer right or other liability that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Bandit at any time and may cancel a subscription through the applicable billing provider. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Band and account deletion are separate from store cancellation.

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Service, investigate suspected abuse, comply with law, address non-payment or capacity mismatch, or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate and legally required, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to remedy the issue.

Sections that by their nature should continue after termination—including content responsibility, backup obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, dispute provisions, and accrued payment obligations—survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Romanian law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections of the country where you habitually reside.

Please contact us first at office@zuma-land.com so we can try to resolve a concern. Courts with jurisdiction under applicable law may hear unresolved disputes. Consumers may also use any competent consumer-protection body or alternative dispute-resolution mechanism available under applicable law.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Bandit, law, security, or business operations. We will post the updated version at this URL and change the effective date. When required, we will provide additional notice or request consent. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law.
